BARF: How long has Father/Daughter been in existence for?
F/D: We have been a label since 2010, not bad for 6 years young!
BARF: What inspired you to start your own independent label?
F/D: I've always loved music and since I can't play a note to save my life, I explored the business side of things. My best friend from high school started her own label which is where I learned a lot of what I know now and after seeing what she was able to accomplish, I knew I had to try it out for myself.
BARF: What’s the label’s most recent release?
F/D: Forth Wanderers' 'Slop' EP. They're a band from Montclair, NJ whose members are all under the age of 21.
BARF: Contrary to not so popular belief, the Bay Area’s music scene is alive and well; currently, who’s your favorite local artist/band?
F/D: Pardoner is a band I can't get enough of right now.
BARF: What’s the most prized record you own?
F/D: Probably my holiday record collection as a whole.
BARF: What are some other labels you admire (and why?)
F/D: Merge and Polyvinyl are two labels I aspire to even get close to as cool one day. Run by people with wholehearted intentions, cranking out some of the best alternative music of the last 20 years.
BARF: Anything else that you’d like to share (music or non-music related!)?
F/D: I'm so proud to be part of BARF and can't wait to meet all of you on Nov 6th!
